take a dxdiag and post it here. Let's see what you got first:
Go to start>run
Type dxdiag in the run box and click on ok
Once the directX Diagnostics box opens, towards the bottom it will give you an option to 'save all information' - save the text file to somewhere like your desktop. Open the text file and copy it into a reply to this thread so we can see what you are working with.

ok i lied, i got the laptop, its:
dual core 1.87
2 x 200 gb hard drivers
vista
radeon 3470 256 mb
3 gig ram
harman/kardon sounds =D (its loud for a laptop)
and it cost me personally $200 =D yay for parents spending the other $300 and me saving them $500 by working where I bought it
nNot too shabby for something that cost 1000.00 normally. Does it play COD?

Totally sounds like a connection problem. Do you get the connection icon thing when you are lagging in the game?

Have you always used wireless? Wireless kinda sucks for FPS gaming cause there is usually some packet loss which causes the connection interuption. Same thing happened to me in moh when i tried wireless.
